Who I'd like to meet: (July 10th 2007) After a long battle with depression,graphic designer and fashion entrepreneur Randy Hubbard Parker, son of Simone G. Parker was found dead in his Atlanta apartment. The Fulton County Atlanta Medical Center lists the cause of death as a suicide from a gunshot wound to the head. Simone G. Parker, wife of Rap legend KRS-One cites “severe depression” as the motivating cause for Randy’s sudden death. He was 23.
Randy Parker was born at Elmhurst hospital on July 18th 1983 in Queens New York. A private memorial service will be held in Florida on July 18, 2007 (Randy’s 24th Birthday). KRS is on tour with producer Marley Marl and is currently unavailable for comment. Plans for an August memorial service in New York are underway. KRS-One and Simone Parker send their sincere appreciation to everyone who have sent their condolences and comments about this tragic news.

For the last several days, hundreds of you have sent condolences and shared your feelings over the tragic loss of Randy Hubbard Parker. Your outpouring of support has been truly overwhelming. Simone and KRS would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to all of you around the globe who wrote in and shared your sympathy and your personal bouts with depression and suicide. Although the Parkers are still grieving their loss, your expressions of good-will have been comforting through this difficult time.
Inspired by KRS ONE’s ongoing campaign to inspire young men, Randy would also become interested mentoring. In 2001, Randy would team up with his step-dad KRS ONE to participate in a one-year mentorship program for young men at the Riverside Church in New York. Mentored by Reverend Mariah Britton at the time, Randy found purpose and peace in the mentoring of others.
In honor of Randy’s life, Simone and KRS are amplifying Randy’s interests in mentoring other men and women suffering from rejection, abandonment and depression. Simone and KRS are presently setting up an official fund to combat and help bring awareness to the “silent disease” which is depression. How can you support?
