Sounds Like
This is Inner Ear Brigade's (IEB) debut four song EP, released in the summer of 2005. IEB Influences range from Magma, Sunra, Frank Zappa, Prog-rock, cheesy 70s fusion ramps, space ships, and other paranormal phenomenon. The songs are one part rock and one part jazz, but not quite the virtuosic masturbation of fusion. Twisting odd meters and harmonies drive the songs towards and original sound. The vintage sounds of Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes, Moog synth, drums, bass and guitar support the musical tapestry. The musicians on this recording are Guitar : Bill Wolter
Drums : Doug Port
Bass : Marvin Ibe
Keyboards : Max Stoffegren
Hammond B3 Organ : Gene Baker
Saxophone : John Ingle
Music composed by : Bill Wolter
Recording & Mix : John Bennett
Mastering : John Greenham
Year : 2005
Noted for their quirky sound influenced by Frank Zappa, Sun Ra, and Magma, Inner Ear Brigade combine early 70s fusion ramps, space ships, and other psychedelic paranormal phenomena into their music. The album’s twisting odd meters and harmonies drive songs that will appeal to more adventurous listeners.

Stretching boundaries and sweeping genres, the music fits somewhere between jazz, experimental, art-rock, funk, and progressive rock. Utilizing the vintage sounds of a Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes, and Moog synthesizer, you may notice sounds that are all at once sweet and silly, riff-crazed, but deceptively free and simple.
