Innerise was started about 11 years ago, creating ambient music using a variety of analogue keyboards and dodgy guitar effects.....in about 99 Innerise moved on with the introduction of Annie Rolph playing guitar and singing.
Once again Innerise moved on and Tarl started to write songs with Katherine and the result is the Innerise you have now.
Nowadays Innerise is just me....though i would like to try arrange to work with different singers one day...
This is what other people have said about Western Sky Music:
Tarl Broad-Ashman's sound is one of depth, beauty and a nod to the old school shoegazing days and it's really nice to have managed to get some copies of this excellent CDr release from make Mine Music. Referencing bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Seefeel whilst keeping a defiantly electronica feel to the sounds and beats works a treat and there's a melancholy, beautiful feeling throughout that's just drippping with atmosphere. The female vocal elements are delivered with feeling and they have that lovely distant, echoing quality to them that gives more of an instrumental feel than a lyrcal one... they seamlessly meld into the music but have a tangible feel as well. Fans of the label and bands such as Windy & Carl or the aformentioned ones above should find this to be a very pleasing work indeed. Gorgeous stuff and just right for this sunny morning.
Smallfish Records
Recording under the name innerise, Tarl Ashman crafts a rich collage of glitches, sweeping synths, subtle drones, and latte-inspired beatwork. Dropping a 57 minute, 13 track debut (Western Sky Music), this record is thick in substance and high on ambitoon. The fusion of synth-pop and ambient electronica often collide with the beautiful guest vocals of Katherine Cobley. Innerise wears its gorgeous influences on its sleeve, and this debut is all the better for it. Mixing Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, and recent Blonde Redhead, Western Sky Music is an ambient record that engages you rather than puts you to sleep. The dense drones of "Searchlight" are chilling, much like many of the tracks heard here. However, after repeated listening to Innerise, I find that while there is a linear melancholy presence, the final outcome is something more along the lines of semi-accessible electro-pop. if you're looking for an album to get lost in...absorbed in...swallowed in...this is just the pill to take. Another complimenting piece to the the MakeMineMusic collective canon.
The Black and White Magazine
"blending low-level hip-hop beats with Scorn-esque bass and elonated guitar riffs to remarkable effect. . . it's that awesome. . . the music is superb, the artwork and packaging equally good. . . [it's] warped shuffling genius. 300% necro, foo'! (5/5)" (Zero Tolerance magazine).

HI welcome,
I love music as you can see on my page :-)
I wrote the biography about Janis Joplins first band , they are great musicians and good friends. I play the guitar a bit and love it.
We spent really good time with all of you people, who we met on tour last year. I am pleased to inform you all that my new album "The Return" is released now !!!
I've uploaded a recent track to the Fame Games radio show, called 'Pine Forest'. It's a short library music composition - ambient electronica using cut up vocal samples, glitchy percussion and also a nice Mellotron sound.
I'll be most grateful if you can spare a moment to register your vote and help me get some radio play:
