Cada dos minutos un niño es vendido como esclavo sexual.
Todos los días luchamos contra el esclavismo sexual infantil existente en nuestro mundo. Realidades como niños de tan solo ocho años siendo prostituidos con quemaduras de cigarillo en su espalda, son palabras que nunca deberían estar juntas en una misma frase.
Revuelven el estómago y nuestra mente no concibe estas historias, pero son verídicas. Historias de niños que deben ser escuchadas, no debemos detenernos, debemos buscar justicia y no olvidarlos.
Seamos claros, este no es solo un caso en todo el mundo. No! El esclavismo sexual infantil se ha anidado en nuestro patio trasero, en Atlanta, la ciudad que se posiciona en el número uno de ciudades con mayor tráfico sexual.
Es por eso que Innocence Atlanta ha nacido, porque creemos que tu puedes hacer la diferencia. Creemos que cada niño tiene el derecho a ser niño. Creemos que la inocencia puede y debe ser restaurada.
En orden de cumplir esta meta, debemos darle a conocer a nuestra comunidad que el exclavismo sexual infantil existe. Y allí es en donde tu participas. El arma más poderosa que podemos darte para luchar contra este flagelo, tu ya la posees: es tu VOZ.
Entonces la pregunta no es: Cómo puedo ayudar? No, la pregunta es: Cómo decido usar mi voz para detener el exclavismo sexual infantil en Atlanta?
Bajo nuestra piel, en nuestras almas, la paz está ausente. La desesperación presiona nuestros corazones, mientras buscamos una voz que pueda hablar, una voz que sienta y no se detenga, una voz por nuestra comunidad. Esta voz es tu voz, tu música, tu arte, tu creatividad. Es una creación de tu corazón compartida con los que están alrededor tuyo.

And every day we fight against the reality that child sex
slavery exists in our world. Phrases like, ‘child rape’, ‘8 year old
prostitute’, and ‘cigarette burns on her back’ should never be
uttered together in a sentence. My stomach turns and my mind
does not conceive, but they are true. These children’s stories
must be heard. We must not stop. We must pursue justice. We
must not forget.
Let us be clear, this is not just an issue in the world at large.
No! Child sex slavery has crept into our own backyard, in
Atlanta, the city that ranks number one in America for sex
trafficking. Innocence Atlanta was started because we
believe that you can make a difference. We believe that
every child has the right to be a child. We believe that
innocence can be restored.
In order to accomplish this, there must be a heightened
sense of awareness in our community that sex slavery
exists. This is where you come in. The most powerful tool we
could ever give you to raise awareness is a tool that you already
possess: Your voice. The question is not, ‘How can I help?’ No.
The question is, ‘How will I choose to use my voice to stop child
sex slavery in Atlanta?’
Underneath our skin, and in our souls, peace is absent.
Desperation gnaws at our hearts, as we search for a voice that will
speak. A voice that feels. A voice that will not stop. A voice for
our community. This voice is your voice. Your voice is your music.
It is your art. It is your creativity. It is every heart-felt creation
shared with those around you.
As we speak, Atlanta will not be able to look away. Atlanta will have to
face the fight. Let us fight to speak. Fight for their freedom. Fight for
their innocence. We believe your voice is the answer.
Innocence Atlanta is a non-profit organization that is focused
on exposing the sex slave industry and connecting like-minded
organizations that can work together to eradicate child sex slavery
and exploitation in Atlanta.
