In Search of a Rose is an alternative Celtic-rock group from Germany founded in 1992 and played more than 600 gigs since.
They utilize the melodic sense and stylistic versatility of Goats Don't Shave and the aggressive edge of The Men They Couldn't Hang. (by Dave Sleger).
In Search of a Rose is an aggressive folk-rock outfit whose punk attitude and exceptional playing recalls early Pogues. Despite their German roots, their original songs suggest a Celtic sound with other European influences. Their impressive debut recording Conquering (1995) was well-received across Germany. Their strength is definitely their live shows when the power of Irish tunes combined with the proper rock sound turns the audience into a celebrating crowd and they remind us why we all love this music! In Search Of A Rose is one of the most popular bands in that genre.

Als sich Blumfeld im Jahr 2007 auflöste, saß der Schock über den Verlust der wohl stilprägendsten Band Deutschlands tief, sowohl bei den Fans als auch bei ihren vehementsten Kritikern. Ein Schritt, mit dem niemand gerechnet hatte, der aber für Blumfeld nur konsequent war. Schließlich hatte sich von „Ich-Maschine „bis „Verbotene Früchte“ ein Kreis geschlossen und Distelmeyer war jetzt bereit, neue Wege zu gehen. Der Facettenreichtum von „Heavy“ ist schier einmalig. In Popsongs von internationalem Format wie „Bleiben oder gehen“, „Jenfeld Mädchen“ oder „Nur mit dir“ zeigt Distelmeyer eine Seite, die so berührend ist, dass man keines dieser Lieder mehr aus dem Kopf bekommt.
