.44 Caliber review of our MySpace tracks
(before the new tracks came for Christmas 2008!!)
INSIDE INFORMATION // Myspace Tracks
Fact: if your drummer's shit, your band's shit.
Simple as that. Fortunately for Hampshire alt. rockers Inside Information,
they've nabbed a right good sticksman and allowed him the kind of creative
input that gives each of their songs a thrilling percussive dimension. Its a
great base to build on, and build on it they do. 'Alone' is a technicolour
collision of influences, from the rockier end of emo (think Hundred Reasons)
to the spacey post-rock of Muse. The result is somewhat akin to the prog/emo
melange of the hugely underrated Sinch, through Inside Informantion shun the
whiny American angst in favour of brittle, rainy day blues. 'Soul Be Free'
also stands out, the subtle, early Cure-isms of the music contradicted
nicely by a soaring vocal. Its the kind of music that, when rewarded with a
sober soundman, swells throughout venues until it seems as though the walls
will collapse under the pressure. And you know how you can play some bands'
songs over the top of each other without it sounding messy thanks to their
hideously one-dimensional approach to music? Well Inside Information are the
exact opposite.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
