Sounds Like
Although we sound more like the Andrew Sisters, if they were big Prince, Bjork and Bob fans and they could only afford acoustic instruments and sounded nothing like them. Or so I imagine from the stage.
1.Naomi, Hannah and Sally meet in a call centre in 2002 where they sit all day and dream about getting out of the call centre.
2.All three move intogether and enjoy singalongs around the piano to any tunes that Sally can remember.
3.One day, between calls, Hannah writes a chorus, she comes home and Sally has been playing around with some chords, they write their first song in the garden. Naomi comes home and joins in.
4.All three worry that they wont be able to write anymore songs together.
5.They then write a whole load more songs.
6.They arrange their first gig in a disused office overlooking canary wharf, they perform sitting on filing cabinets.
7.They then record their first EP which none of them any longer own.
8.They perform in various London Venues, one that they share with an Irish Wake, one dominated by a half naked dancing drunk lady, with low hanging bosoms (Not Sally, Naomi or Hannah), in a church, in a zoo, in someones living room and one for the Camberwells Community Gay Rights Group, audience: one.
9.They tour America from New Orleans to New York, writing and listening. They play a gig in Memphis which several audience members describe as awesome.
10.They record and tour their first album, Surviving St Francisville and finally feel happy that despite still working in a call centre they, just like Great Gatsby and many before and after, are following the dream.

Needleandthread presents... {yet another} dirty great big night out.. 19 Oct 2007 the JAMM, 261 brixton road, London, sw9 UK Cost:£6/£5, or £4 before nine.. BARGAIN!!
Room One.. Cyan341 - Tonight we are lucky to have Rednetic label boss Mark Streatfield perform his more techno based material - deep, soulful, and groove ridden, but with all the electronic frills we’ve come to expect from him. eN - atmospheric breaks and harsh edited jungle rhythms with washed out synthetic soundscapes to create bass heavy dancefloor killers. rANdOMoiDz - Dirty shuffling beats chop and change between techno rhythms and wonky breaks, and are guaranteed to make you move. Alt*Ctrl djs - these DJs have played alongside the biggest names in electro and know exactly how to rock a dancefloor. Patscan - combines complex rythyms and sweet melodies with a definite dancefloor focus. Uncle Smutfist - an utterly unique frenzied but playful sound that dances between distorted dubstep and battered breaks. between the rooms, we have live performance pieces from The Great Antagonist, and guests..
Room Two.. ZeJ - combining live electronic drums and bass with effervescent synthesis and live gadgetry, provides an experience impossible to ignore. Red - brixton based multi-vocalist, building his tongue twisting rhythyms into live loops, then turntable-ising the results.. King Porter Stomp - a dub - ska juggernaut of rhyme and funk on a mission to entertain, enliven and enlighten. an unstoppable octet of big horns, fat beats, heavy bass. Bogus Gasman - anarchic dub-core.. punk-laced reggae.. what they lack in covers, they make up for in brass, fat old basslines, and guitars that go chk chk chk chk.. Bunty - one mouth, one mic, one loop station, one delay pedal.. one hell of a show.. dj’s include Mr Hovis, Dj Dark.. should be a bloody good one!
