"A WORLD TO WRITE HOME ABOUT" is the new album from insomniac jack, and is available NOW!! it looks just like the one pictured at the top of our page, being modeled by our own (in house CD promoter) Storm Jinx. It features 12 new original songs, 4 of which are downloadable on the site. if you are interested in hearing others you can come & see us at one of the places in our gig list, or contact us for a copy of the album.
INSOMNIAC JACK are an unsigned band from Somerset, with, it seems a foot in every generation of musical influence from rock & roll to folk-blues and contemporary pop-rock
Of the five members, Denny (vocals & rhythm guitar), John (lead & rhythm guitar) have been playing together in a semi professional rock & blues band that has graced the stage of many venues & festivals around the southwest over the last 13years, and have also supported some well known acts along the way. But, with the addition of Storm Jinx (lead & harmony vocals) Mike Marshall (bass guitar), Ed Roller (drums) and an ever increasing wedge of quality handwritten original songs they are able to utilise their full creative potential and leave an entirely different impression as Insomniac Jack.
The songs are of varying styles, highlighting the versatile nature and wide ranging influences that makes insomniac jack a band for people interested in good quality songs, as well as those who take no real interest in music until a song accidentally sticks in their head and they find themselves singing along… sometimes against their will.
“As with any band or artiste that plays genuinely original songs, to be cornered into categorising the style of music is a nigh on impossible request, particularly when the influences are as diverse as ours, we all love good, well crafted songs, melodies & harmony, regardless of who..s performing it or what style or genre it might fall into, the quality of our songs is most important, other than that you really can expect pretty much anything from us”

hey sorry we couldn't make it to the Bristol festival, no excuses we are clearly utterly crap! Hope all goes well, we delve ever onward into musical complicatory. Will anyone understand it? Who knows! Who cares! You do know all life is illusory, presumably? As we discover on the train, anyway. All reality is a veil. Up the revolution! Wake up! It's tomorrow! Silver Juice

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

"Exciting, Striding and assured. It has an energy reminiscant of everything that was good about the Klaxons debut album.." - BBC Radio Bristol.
"The overall sound echoes that of Bloc Party but with great conviction and sophistication. Go see them live if you can." - iTunes review.
It's also available to buy through our website and itunes if you really do like it.
