InfluencesMusic is my life and influences have come from MANY different people. I'm sure the semi-classical influence is fairly obvious. Other influences are Josh Groban, Linda Eder, October Project, John Denver, and Deb Talan

..
Sounds LikeSeveral people have told me that my music sounds like something that would be in a movie soundtrack. One person said it sounds like something in a Broadway musical. I've been told I sound like Josh Groban (in style only! I would never compare my voice to someone so amazing). My music would probably take on a very different flavor if I actually had instrumentalists to work with. I don't play the drums, guitar, harp, or any other instrument beside the piano so I have no idea what to do with them in my music. Someday, I hope to have a group of people with whom I can work and bounce ideas off of to produce music that is new and fresh, and yet still has a place in today's market.

   About Insongniac
I've been playing the piano technically since kindergarten, but quit after about a year and a half because I hated being told when to practice. After that I pretty much taught myself.... I started composing music in junior high, when melodies would just sort of come into my head. After high school, when I got a little more technologically advanced I got an electric piano and connected it to the computer. The acquisition of Apple's Garage Band changed my life (compositionally speaking). I come from a musical family where large groups of aunts and uncles would stand around a piano and/or a guitar and sing, but I have never had voice lessons. Like the piano, I taught myself just by listening to the sounds that singers I respected were able to make. Despite my lack of training, I was recently offered a contract with Tate Music Group. I accepted the offer, and hopefully there will be an album released within the next year. So check back often and tell your friends to check my page out, too. I'll need all the support I can get in the coming months. I'll post updates frequently, and hopefully have a single to put up in a couple months.
