Through My Veins was formed in early 2002 with former members of JFK and The Juniors (ska-punk) and two new-comers. After some rearranging of instrumentation, the 5 man band was made. Their first show was under the name "Fallout," and was later changed to "Through My Veins." TMV's original songs were adaptations from JFK et al, and their first attempt at original hardcore was "Fire in the Sky." No doubt, they took a while to find their sound. The vocals finally found their sound, the drummer moved from punk to metal, and the strings got heavy and dirty. While not the most technical of bands, they played relentlessly hard music.
TMV lived for the local scene, always playing small venues, basements, and churches--the way a hardcore show is supposed to be done. The band slowly dissolved with the loss of Justin. After that, the bass player (Mike) moved an hour away (but the band played on). The latest hit came when vocalist Andrew left the country to pursue higher education. The band members remain friends (and brothers), and TMV will never officially be dead. Look for reunion shows and possible live/studio releases in the future.
TMV has played with heavy hitters like Dead to Fall, Dead of Winter, and In the Face of War, and Brazil as well as countless other small time bands from all over--the bread and butter of the basement show.
