INSTANT KARMA at the very steamy 2006 Abbey Road on the River in Louisville, Kentucky.
...is led by lead singer Jay Goeppner, who has been singing as John Lennon for over 25 years. He is an energetic, award-winning sound-alike who has a passion for the music of John Lennon that shines through in every performance. When you hear him sing, you get a sense that John Lennon is in the room with you. This is a reflection of the love and passion he has for John and his music.
You may have heard him on the Jonathan Brandmeier Radio Show, the Steve Dahl and Garry Meier show, Kevin Matthews and Breakfast With The Beatles. Or you may have seen him on television programs such as the WGN News, FOX Television News, NBC Channel 5 News, The Norman Mark Show on NBC and several cable shows. As a solo entertainer and, for 15 years, as "The Beatle Brothers", Jay also has performed far and wide...at the opening ceremonies at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in 1995 and 1997, and has sung in such places as Rome, Africa and Munich, Germany.
Last year, Jay and Instant Karma travelled to Liverpool, England to perform at The International Beatle Week Festival, and from the first time he stepped up to the microphone at The Cavern to sing "Jealous Guy" with Hal Bruce, he became one of the festival's favorite singers...capturing the spirit and power of John Lennon! Instant Karma will be at International Beatle Week this year as well!
Come out and see why this energetic performer is hailed as one of the world's best John Lennon celebrators...he will leave you wanting more and more!!! Just watching him perform, will exhaust you!
THE MUSIC
Instant Karma takes you on a Magical Mystery Tour through the life and music of John Lennon.
The band covers his whole career from his "Teddy Boy" roots and 1950's Rock and Roll influences, to his signature Beatles era, all the way up through his solo career...from The Plastic Ono Band to his Double Fantasy/Milk and Honey Albums. At an Instant Karma show you will hear songs like "Starting Over", "Imagine", "Mind Games", "..9 Dream", "Jealous Guy". You will hear the John Lennon hits and the obscure songs such as "Isolation", "God", "Mother" and "Out of the Blue", to name a few. Of course, at an Instant Karma show you are guaranteed to hear the John Lennon/Beatles hits like "In My Life", Strawberry Fields Forever", "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds", "Help", "I Am The Walrus", "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", and many more. The songs are played with lots of love and affection and with great respect to our Musical Hero.

Dear Yoko, … That interjection "yoo-hoo" from John’s song Imagine, before the song’s bridge, is the sound of happiness when we achieve our goals. You know, I used that interjection so many times in the past, for instance when I graduated the polytechnics, when I got married, when I left the communistic Romania, when I got the first job in the US, when I got tickets to Paul McCartney’s concerts in Chicago in 2002…last time I used that interjection it was when you Yoko …, next time I will use it will be when
Hi Jay, here is an open letter to Yoko: Hi Yoko this is an open letter I sent today to many people I love, also I posted on my profile. December is the month that brings lots of memories. It is the month that reminds me that there is such a fine line between tragedy and bliss. Every December I remember the tragedy when that madman rubbed John of his life and I get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, and although we all love John with the same intensity like you do, still you were the only one who were by him back then and you were melted by the tragedy, therefore I will never dare to say that I love John, the Beatles without loving you, his wife to whom he dedicated his life until the end of his physical life. So I love you. I also remember the joy and his love for mankind, because there is a Christ in all of us and he had the courage to speak up his mind in the 60’s and told us he is definitely the Christ. I mean any person who can bring so much happiness to Mankind, like he did it with the Beatles and after the Beatles broke up, is a Christ... so for me Christmas is always John too and if I wouldn’t think so, it means I didn’t learn anything from this life. It means that he was a God Sent a gift from God, because although I believe in Darwin’s Evolution, from nothing it would not be possible to evolve into the first molecule or cell, unless it was done by a Divine force beyond our comprehension. I strongly believe you are a gift from God too. Love you Octavian.
