About me: Coffee Pub Coffee in the morning. Beer, wine, & sandwiches in the afternoon. Music & art scene at night.
We are a great place to bring your laptop to enjoy a coffee while you work during the day and then to come see a show or get an evening latte or glass of wine.
Kavarna, in Czech, means café or coffeehouse. Kavarna in Decatur, Georgia is
a Coffee Pub & Music Venue that features (in addition to the obvious coffee, beer, & wine) a pleasing variety of sandwiches, snacks & pastries, & a great environment for relaxing & enjoying an evening out.
The January 2oo9 issue of Stomp and Stammer called us a "Great New Venue" because we "kicked into high gear last year... [and] managed to balance variety, focus & consistent quality." We have shows programmed most every Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Shows are free, unless we advertise otherwise!!! Check our calendar (below) and blog (above) for details!
Todd Prusin of Stomp and Stammer named Gravel Truck's pre-thanksgiving show at Kavarna the 2nd best show of 2oo8 (behind AC/DC's appearance at Phillips Arena no less). "What an unexpected treat to hear Mitch Easter (who produced R.E.M.'s Chronic Town, Murmer, and Reckoning as well as performed with his own band, Let's Active) visit the past. And free too!" Here's a video of Gravel Truck performing Fell by Let's Active 21 November 2oo8!
