Instant Wonton is the collaborative effort of Nathaniel J. Kitchens and Corey Johnson. The two produce electronic-based music and publish it on the internet.
Originally started by Corey Johnson a.k.a. "My Friend the Magician", he recruited former "Koi Pond in Hell" and "Babies on Fire" frontman Nate Kitchens to collab on a few tracks. Their first actual track is about a 5 second track heard on Nate's animation for "Space Fart" entitled "Pennty". Afterwards, the two took a small break so that Nate could do an LP for Koi Pond in Hell, and Corey worked on film. They rejoined in the summer of '08 to start work on a new CD. Nate was somewhat under the impression that Instant Wonton was going to be the album and that many artists would contribute to it. Eventually he had given Corey 5 tracks to mix and edit. The two are currently working ..ing up their first album "Them Be Fightin' Words" due NOVEMBER 4, 2008.
Recently in an impromptu concert at "The Hole" in Lufkin, Texas, Nate preformed 3 songs, two of which are rumored to be on the "Them Be Fightin' Words" but Nate didn't comment on if they would or not. Corey hasn't commented either, nor does he acknowledge that this concert happened.
THEM BE FIGHTIN' WORDS - The band's debut album, will be released NOVEMBER 4, 2008, while a non-album single - GIVE - will be released October 14.
