Influences
A lot of different 3 piece bands along with some 4 piece bands that had a lead singer. Cream, ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
This Utah based foursome has pulled together a wide mix of music and attitude. Formed by guitarist, Matt Rushton in 1994, InStereo has transformed into a high energy, non-stop rock -&- roll show receiving wide appeal in the American rockies. They have integrated midi, music sequencing, automated DMX light show, and audio sampling to the mix that brings humor and surprises around every corner.
InStereo started out as a 5 piece band showcasing two female vocalists. The band played a wide variety of high energy dance songs ranging from pop, disco, classic rock, new age rock, and heavy metal. After several staff changes including drums, bass, and female vocalist, Matt and Ted emerged as the catalyst to keep the show alive. Tom had been a long time friend of Matt and his rumbling bass rhythms and wide vocal range fit perfectly into the mix since 1997. Later, Kyle joined the band, bringing the visual aura of his DMX light show, and his entertaining, boundless energy. Instereo also had a couple of people that occasionally "sit in" when we play. Reece plays a mean harmonica and then there's Heidi, Tom's daughter, that wails on a few songs.
The band works hard to bring current, popular music to the stage with the arrangement and energy of the original artist. There isn't a genre InStereo won't tackle. If it gets people moving, it gets played.
Hey Tom, just re-checked out your InStereo site. Looked ath the pics. My favorite one is the young you, the you I remember who has grown into the man I know now. You coming back this summer for the "casual get together" that Ed George is spearheading?? Would love to see you again.
