After physical and mental breakdown in 1998, Insular was born and decided to document the experience through sound. The process remains partially therapeutic but more a method of exploring and indulging in experimental abstract travelogue, rather than using prose to hardcode events. Insular is about the moment, the colour, texture and light of that feeling, reproduced with a different meaning for every listener.
Just wanted to let you know that we have proudly released a new Glitch/IDM/Downtempo album by the two Scottish founders of the Section 27 netlabel, Nonima & theAudiologist, titled, 'Almost Tomorrow'. The album is a dynamically crafted work of art, with constantly mutating sounds and textures, over stuttered popping beats, with layers of intricite glitches weaving around the nostalgic melodies, creating a unique wall of sound. The release is available for free download from our page where you can also hear the tracks!
Having released a couple of tuneful albums with theAudiologist and Soni Jimm since my last LP, "Fear of Mathematics", Section 27 Netlabel brings you "Wrpdata”, containing 14 tracks full of chunky, breathy and some would even say pleasantly broken breaks, some good-time-mind-fuck glitch, a few (thankfully blissful) orchestrated mixes featuring the talents of Pinklogik and theAudiologist (also acting as co-producer on this release) respectively, and ends sweetly with some beautiful spoken word poetry by the lovely aussie Cindel Waddington.
A delight on the sensory organs from start to finish, "Wrpdata" is available now for *free* download (see my page or www.myspace.com/section27netlabel). Licensed by Creative Commons.
