About me:
INSURRECTION: The act or an instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government; organized opposition to authority.
After a very long hibernation, Insurrection Theater is waking up, stretching our muscles, and looking toward the future. Its been a long time coming, but guess what everybody? WE'RE BACK!
Insurrection Theater promises to NEVER produce a Neil Simon play. We love Neil Simon - who doesn't? But since there are 3 million other theater companies in the United States currently performing "The Odd Couple", we'll just leave them to it. We pride ourselves on seeking out new talent and fresh shows. We appreciate the "norm", but we know there is more to life than another revival of "The Sound of Music." Though we do care about your grandma - this isn't your grandma's theater company.
We break rules. We make noise. We fight for the things we believe in. And most importantly, we create. We are passionate about what we do, and hold ourselves only to the highest standards. Religious satire, GLBT issues and events, challenging thought, political defiance, top notch comedy, innovative theatre, gender bending, anti-war statements, new plays by emerging artists, cutting edge entertainment, and an occasional show by the likes of Durang or Bogosian - you'll find it here at Insurrection Theater.
