.. I edited my profile with ..Prayer.. .. .. It's been said that The Lord "Works in mysterious ways..." and while maybe not a mystery, Illegible Records finally offers a full fledged contribution to the Christian world with an album from the new group Intelligent Design! .. .. It's only two members, Randall Carlson and Eric Blades, had earlier set out on a fun project that led to this new spiritual endevour "We were going to sit down and record an entire album in one day," says Eric, thinking back "Uh,... that didn't happen..." One of the distractions later that very day was when both dwelled on the fact that they attended the same church (Lansing Trinity). They then found themselves discussing how they view modern Christian music and how they would approach it differently. One thing led to another and the two decided to formalize the project as a band and offer it to Divine use. At that point, Illegible Records' first Christian band, Intelligent Design, was born. .. .. The sessions continued through the end of 2006 and into 2007 as the pair explored every musical nuance they knew to offer the most compelling music they could come up with. Allowing the sounds to flow into a decidedly experimental and cosmic industrial groove, Randall and Eric, each shared producer roles and let the project fall wherever God wanted it to. Literally. "We would go into Randy's studio with no advanced ideas or musical parts in mind," recalls Eric "Just our equipment and maybe a prayer." Further pushing the envelope, both of them decided to make it a spiritual statement but to also keep it in the instrumental realm. An underlying concept of the end of the world and a newly created Earth lies underneath the songs and the long instrumental passages offer much for the listener to interpret on their own. .. .. Ultimately, the two have no particualar message to onslaught people with - just a hope that they will have a chance to share this music with as many people as possible. "I enjoyed so much working again with my life-long friend, Randy," concludes Eric "and doing this for The Big G has awarded us with the most incredible music that I think has ever come out either of us." .. .. Intelligent Design is slated for a Summer 2007 release. .. .. ...... ..
