MIRAI'S ILLUSORY EGO BIOGRAPHY
Originally from space, MIRAI ('Future Boy') is the founder of the neo-futurist network 'Intelligentsia' and record label 'Earth Academy"- its prime directive to bring together artists on the vanguard, with an amalgamation of innovative philosophy and positive future. Mirai grew up designing U.K. video games during the 80's whizz kid era, releasing over 10 titles from age 14, and then moved onto music, video & fashion during the growth of the rave culture, where he began to group in numerous members into his unit. Their first gig was in Camden Palace, London '91, & have done over 50 live events since, including the Interactive Live tour with Japanese pioneers P-Model (Warner), Innovation Lab (Denmark), Yokohama sports stadium (Japan), Emotions (Belgium) Toucho Skyscraper (Tokyo), & the Alfa Centauri & E.Live festivals (Netherlands). From '95 he relocated to Tokyo, writing soundtracks for Japanese video games, club mixes, TV & radio. In Tokyo he was a video game character & model, co-hosted Electronic music radio shows, wrote for 'Keyboard' magazine, & did various TV & national radio media spots. Thru over a decade of Intelligentsia he has teamed up with a motley bag of musicians & artists, always pushing against the status quo. In Japan he had a political party named after him, & was the first foreigner to perform a techno live using a mobile phone. Mirai's portfolio includes the global artist project 'WorldWideKind', webmaster for Uri Geller, the Wisdom Trust charity, customized music devices such as the Body-Drum & the Gypsy-Midi exo-skeleton controller, content for Arkaos VJ, Digtial Famitsu, Enix PS2 level designs, interactive music for Morley Robertson (J-Wave Radio), Kenso Kato & Susumu Hirasawa, Ringtones for Yamaha, Arvato / T-mobile (Germany) and was voted the top Tomb Raider level designer. Now back in London, with the release of FEDERATION and the space opera 'CIVILIZATIONS', a long held agenda: EARTH ACADEMY is finally realised.

"Your music is fantastic!! When I woke up this morning the sounds were still in my mind... WHY ARE YOU NOT FAMOUS!!??. The music penetrates the soul!!"
URI GELLER
"I like very much your album. Sometimes, it reminds me of Jean-Michel Jarre. Excellent work ! Congratulations !"
MICHEL GEISS (co-producer to Jean-Michel Jarre)
" [Dreams of the future] reminds me of all my works rolled into one "
JEAN-MICHEL JARRE
Some of the more bizarre & unique individuals,we've interacted with:
MORLEY ROBERTSON - is Japan's foremost American/Japanese multimedia and tech guru. Fronting TV and Radio shows in Tokyo. Electronic music at Harvard. He performed in LOGIC SYSTEM, one of my favourite bands as a teenager. We worked together for quite a while on various cyberspace, electronic music projects and live shows, on TV and Radio. J-WAVE radio especially. Anarchic, unpredictable & madcap. We performed the first Techno Live with a Mobile Phone, as I was hired by YAMAHA at the time as Club Ringtone producer.
KENSO KATOH [Japanese Multimedia journalist] - we did a TV computer show with him in Tokyo (dressed as aliens of course) and recorded the track "Tekno-Donburi", which proved quite popular as a comedy track. (You can hear it on the album FEDERATION).
CHIBA REIKO - Cyber chick, and TV partner with Morley. I was her English teacher on Radio Nippon Hoso, again this was with Kenso Katoh.
STEVE DEG / ORANGEY (Ricky Gervais shared the same drummer).
An artist I met in Tokyo, befriended, worked and performed live with, for a long time now - Steve performs vocals on various tracks of ours. On EARTH ACADEMY RECORDS under the guise of ORANGEY.
DJ PHIL FREE -Tokyo's top British DJ in the 90's. This was a period of full on techno and clubbing for me. We released 'Dragonia' via Shibuya's popular CLUB ASIA.
DAVID ICKE - We were probably the first to use Mr. Icke in our music back in the early 90's. He wrote to me approving of the tunes, but 8 years later we had dinner, and he couldn't look me straight in the eye. Bizarrely I was suspected of being an 'Illuminati Agent' and that was the last I saw of him. I was lynched by a Japanese cult the next day. Welcome to the paranoid world of the conspiracy theorist.
SUSUMU HIRASAWA (P-MODEL / Warner Records) - A great visionary, but part fascistic unfortunately. I performed the Interactive Live Show with him, and we probably came up with one of our best tracks in this period: 'INTERSTELLA', which is on the album 'CIVILIZATIONS'.
URI GELLER - One of the few people in the paranormal world who is genuine. Being his webmaster I got to know his works, and saw first hand his true abilities. But the most important thing I learnt from him, was how ignorant and bigoted some so-called scientists can be, and how the masses easily buy into gossip and 2nd hand hearsay via the TV media. Uri crosses paths with many world shakers, and leads a fascinating life.
JEAN-MICHEL JARRE - Obviously my hero in my younger years. His positive futurism being the biggest influence on our music, and I still think our band sounds as one of the closest to the spirit of Jarre. In fact Jean-Michel and Michel Geiss said similar. Photos above of my interview with him for KEYBOARD magazine, and the Oxygene Remix CD I produced with my drummer JOHN STAP and fellow Italian synth artist VICTOR CERULLO.
Other notables we've dined with, interviewed or confronted in intellectual debate;
LFO, PLAID, APHEX TWIN, KEN ISHII, RAEL, KARL BARTOS, WOLFGANG FLUR (KRAFTWERK), HARUOMI HOSONO (YMO), RICHARD BARBIERI, NATHAN MCREE, and ANDY PICKFORD.
"Mirai is an astral being from outer space. He came to this planet in order to better balance out the four winds. He and Michael Jackson are two diametrical opposite forces for change.
His instruments are the computer, MIDI gear, a special body suit that he designed by himself, vocoder, and his very presence. Mirai is very much against the constraining forces of monopoly in Earth's economic system. He opposes the infringement upon personal freedom to reproduce musical material and software tools for creation, and endorses the use of commercial software that has been liberated from commerce. Mirai has been contacted by people riding UFO's in their Mystery Circle Parking Lots. He forgot to return the keys to one of their vehicles."
-MORLEY ROBERTSON (J-Wave Radio, Japan)

Norman(Mr Manorlogic) Still making brilliant music, my electrofriend, when your coming back to the netherlands. I'm in London within two weeks at the Jarre-concert. Greetings,
Hey Intelligentsia [earthacademy.org], hope you're having a great day! Say, do you believe in God? If so, do you think it comes with a tangible science we can hope to understand one day, or should it remain a mystical concept?
Apocalypse Nowt Disco < Northern Love Riot Mix>- (song) mix?) As an idea for EARSAY or release...dou omoimasu ka! Great instrumental ...I recall hearing it in the works last year...Good work,Mirai
Thank you very much for adding me, and for your kind comments!
The first Terminator was brilliant, it almost had some of the scariness of "The Second Variety" if you've read that Philip K. Dick short story. It's almost hard to remember it that way now, overshadowed as it was by the sequel, which was just another "Arnie" film (I felt).
I'm taking the opportunity to have another good listen to your amazing tracks. It's like being able to climb into a space ship on the front cover of a really brilliant eighties sci-fi novel and taking off into that whole universe and finding it as real and as limitless as you'd like to imagine.
