Sounds Like
Intense City draws its influences from classic rock, funk, and jazz. Most of their songs, including original songs, would probably be classified as “rock and roll.” Improvisation during performance is highly stressed. Their repertoire consists of an ever growing, healthy mix of original and covers songs. Artists covered include Buddy Miles, Traffic, Santana, Little Feat, Curtis Mayfield, Al Kooper, Shuggie Otis, Steely Dan, Talking Heads and the Beatles.
All members met as students at JMU in Harrisonburg, VA, and began playing music together in the fall of 2003. Gigging began that same year and has continued since. Intense City has become one of the more popular local bands in the JMU community. In 2004 they branched out to Richmond and Charlottesville, VA and are now continuing to expand into Norfolk and Blacksburg, VA. They now call Richmond, VA their home.

.. Hi there Intense City first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. So imagine you're a girl in a far away land called San Diego... and it's Halloween, and you're dressed as a wine bottle... clearly... and you're in the bathroom at a bar... and you're chatting with this girl who mentions Virginia.. so you say um Virginia what? JMU??? And her response is... (clearly)... um, fuck yeah... JMU, and Intense City... the most amazing band ever...

I dunno if I'd really call it "Intense". Maybe you should try "Half-decent City" or "Occasionally better then sub-par City". That's got a nice ring to it, I think.
