Mickey Oliver's, "In-Ten-Si-T ...Reloaded" ...an Interactive History of Dance Music
From the city that has revolutionized the national nightclub industry comes an equally powerful production show, In-Ten-Si-T Reloaded, an electronic dance music revue conceived by and starring Mickey “Mixin’” Oliver, one of house music’s founding fathers.
Opening with a stunning electronica tribute to James Bond, featuring caged go-go dancers in body paint and little else, the show continues with Oliver’s innovative takes on beloved disco hits, ’80s favorites and classic house cuts, along with original Oliver tracks spun and performed live. A troupe of cleverly choreographed dancers provide extra sizzle on several numbers—while audience members are invited to show off their own sultry moves on the large dance floor directly in front of the stage.
Oliver’s musical mastery ranges from an inspired dance remix of CCR’s 1970s rock hit, “Born on the Bayou”, to a glamorous rendition of his own new dance-romance ballad, “ I Know Why”, featuring Oliver on a grand piano and accompanied by chart-topping dance-music singer Raquela on vocals as rose petals cascade down onto the stage. Whether viewed from a reserved table or felt from the dance floor, In-Ten-Si-T Reloaded is hot, exciting, energetic entertainment for all.
Oliver was one of the founding members of the groundbreaking Hot Mix 5 group that introduced house music to the masses on Chicago’s 102.7 WBMX. He has since performed in Chicago and Ibiza, been commissioned by Michael Jordan, produced music for the Chicago Bulls’ cheerleaders, and created music for Chicago’s Sports Channel and the movie Red Heat, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Belushi. He is currently on Sirius Radio’s Area 33 show and The Underground Movement on KNRJ. -by Jeremy Womack
