| | Music | My name is Kathryn Schreiber, live in the northern woods of Minnesota and have always been a Minnesota girl. Traveled throughout the states and have always come back to the clean air and many lakes, here to stay now in my (Golden Years). We cleared our own land by hand and have built a house with horse arena for our two quarter horses, a buckskin and palamino (father and son). Names Buck and Pal, creative huh?
My creativity started way back when I was a child in the country, thats when you played outside all day and came in when it got dark. I was the oldest child and always kept my sister intertained with making things out of items we had around. Then I got into the craft of macrame', crafted a large piece to hold a mirror for a table to be hung in it. To accent the completed piece I thought of hanging color glass over the mirror table; WELL.., that is where Stained Glass became my addiction. I met a great stained glass artist, she took me under her wings and taught me to do quality stained glass.
I built a large window for my first piece, it turned out beautiful. Stained Glass was now in my blood,that was over 28 years ago. I went on with my education for my dream job, Private secretary, Realtor, Electronic specialist, always doing stained glass in my spare time. I then just took the leap and started my own shop where I created my art and sold materials. Within a couple years I started private classes so I could pass on the knowledge I had accumulated. I did allot of soldering and started doing decorative soldering which is now my signature in my art. We now are in the process building a studio out here in the woods due to the high interest in my art. I LOVE what I do and plan on doing glass till I no longer can. I believe I will always be involved in stained glass even when I can't do it anymore myself. Teaching private classes again and up north in the woods and lakes area is so inspiring! I feel as if I have only just begun to be creative...it is so endless!
