INTERMEDIALE FESTIVAL

INTERMEDIALE is a festival of audiovisual forms. It is organised regularly and offers a complete review of current aesthetic tendencies in modern performing arts: live performances, video-art, video installation, audio-art, electroacoustic, industrial and experimental music. The first edition took place in 1994, and was called ’Legnica Ars Media Presentations’.
The festival is, on one hand, a forum, which shows potential applications of new media and technologies in the audio-visual arts, while on the other hand it is a zone of creative experiments in the sound and vision field. For the last three years it has ben realised as Audiovisual Forms Festival INTERMEDIALE.
In 2000 The Face Productions released a CD: Simulacra Soundscapes, which contained the previously edited music.

SIMULACRA SOUNDSCAPE ..
is an effort to present various creative ways of artists who are involved in this current and who participated in the successive editions of the festival. Although they share the same ideas, they express them in different ways. Therefore the music on this record reflects a broad spectrum of various trends in contemporary music, from overtone singing and ambient music, through electroacoustic improvisations to neoindustrial and noise music.
