What was to become INTERMINATE spent most of its life under another name: PARANORMAL DISPOSITION. PD began in Eccles Greater Manchester back in 1993 when Rick - guitars, John - guitars, and Dave - drums, began jamming one their own material. Matt joined on bass and hard work began on some more original material.
The new songs made up a demo tape called "Labyrinth of Hallucination". Some gigs followed, occompanied on many occasion by local bands such as fellow metallers DER-UNTERMENSCH. Indeed, around this time (1994-1996), there were only a few underground metal bands gigging in the Manchester area and even less venues to play in.
PD's next musical creations after the 'LOH' demo were growing ever more progressive and influences were now in the shape of Rush and Pink Floyd rather than Sepultura. One song was over 12 minutes long and was more akin to progressive metal and anything that was on 'LOH' This was not to John's taste and half way through recording the second demo left the band. The name change from Paranormal Disposition to INTERMINATE came about while recording the second demo. As way of linking it all together, an untitled track on the demo was therefore named "Paranormal Disposition".
