My name is Loli, (Chlapin Queen when in drag, or Jack for those who know me better), Internal Dementia is my way of getting some things out of my system or just expressing through visuals what passes through my mind, my work being mainly photography and photo manipulation based.
I constantly question myself on the notion of imagination versus what is defined as reality, not knowing myself where to draw the line between them. They’re both similar to me, you make what you want out of it but it eventually takes a hold of you to drive you mad.
What comes out of it is what I call « Sugar Rust », it’s sucking candy in a bright busy alley full of neon lights up high and shit under your boots, it‘s destruction but it‘s also living through it with all the pleasure that‘s left to have. It represents pretty dreams and painful experiences, the mix that makes a pulse.
I’ve lived the vast majority of my childhood in San Francisco and consider it my hometown. I’m currently residing in France in a city that isn‘t noisy and busy enough for me…
I interact freely between what many feel the necessity to categorize and I like to bend around the lines. I feel that I can neither precisely define myself in a feminine or masculine gender but tend towards one or the other depending on the instant. However you want to see it I view myself as me before all.
