Hailing from Starkville, MS -- the home of Johnny Cash's "Starkville City Jail", the band was founded in 2008 by Carlo and Donny. The members are all veterans of the North-East MS music scene, haven played in numerous bands including Young Agent Jones, Pet Boy Sherman, The Del Rendon band, K Is For Kate, The Caspers, Babelfish, and Black Dokhma. The band crosses a wide range of genres with both covers and originals, ranging from old-school country, southern rock, blues rock, classic rock, hard rock, stoner rock, indie-pop rock, punk, to even Irish drinking songs. The Bootleggers, as they're often called in short, have opened for numerous bands and artists including David Allan Coe. They have played charity events and even play private parties. Carlo and Kevlar can also be caught in venues like Old Venice performing acoustically. The band has recently joined an independent label called Scary Uncle Records and should be in the studio recording their debut album in January 2010.
