Music should do more than dance in your ears... it should move your heart and invade your soul. Since the beginning of her music career in 2001, Angie Raess has been a firm believer that music should be more than entertainment but an experience to share with her listeners. Taking a professional but personal approach to her music, every show is an opportunity to connect with her audience. In a world of recycled pop lyrics she aims to deliver something more honest and real.
Teaming up with some amazing musicians she embarked on her first regional tour in 2004 throughout Arizona. After a few years of playing shows and writing some originals she stepped in the studio recording her first full length album, "Untitled" in Scottsdale, AZ. Angie's rock ballad, "I Am Lost", made the airwaves around local Arizona radio stations and soon spread nationally to various college and indie radio stations. Soon after the release of "I Am Lost" a music video was in the works as well as a national tour. Being able to share the stage with some major label acts, engage in radio interviews and record with some fantastic musicians has helped her grow into the strong and appreciative musician she is today. Whether it's playing for 2,000 people or 20 kids each show has an intimate feeling and fresh approach.
After recording in Denton, TX for two months in 2007 the album, "Awake O Sleeper EP" is expected to finally make it's release in May 2009. Along with her touring and writing accomplishments Angie's also taken a few vocal lessons from famous vocal coach Jan Smith (Rob Thomas, Mae, Red, Usher). She's also shared the stage with national acts like: Slow Coming Day, Brandston, Bleach, Spoken, Noise Ratchet, Downhere, Paul Wright, John Ruben and regional bands such as: Greeley Estates, Telescope, Ever Stays Red, Good With Grenades and Fight The Quiet.
Angie is currently writing brand new music, doing radio interviews and booking for a 2009 tour. Keep on the lookout for new events and upcoming music and come take a journey through raw passion, heartache, disappointment, struggles, God, faith, love and everything in between.
