Danyella Devino and Chris Dixon met in 2005 to explore Danyella’s songs and it quickly morphed into a mutual collaboration. Upon meeting they found a deep musical connection and a sibling-like friendship and it did not take long before they were melding their ideas into new songs. Chris’s guitar stylings & production sense illuminates Dany’s own lyrical/musical vision, and vice versa, as each song is richly crafted with care and humor. They are continually sculpting new ideas and often at a live performance will try out an entire set of brand new music. There is always a new song in the air when the duo are together….and even when they aren’t as sometimes C will check his phone messages only to hear D’s voice excitedly singing a new idea into her phone as she drives around!!
Intonition’s music is born of the heart and soul. Danyella conjures poetic lyrics that celebrate the important things in life: not taking anything or anyone for granted, reminiscing about childhood wonder, thoughts of loved ones past, present and passed on and what they have taught, about savoring the light & reflecting it back at others…or sometimes about just plain whimsy! Chris brings a lifetime of sonic vocabulary to the table and music that they wrap around this poetry runs the gamut from whispering gossamer strands of acoustic guitar to the slipperiest electric roadhouse shakedown….and back again....
Since their paths merged Dany & Chris have collaborated on boundless vistas of soundscapes both live and in the studio. They self-produced/released/marketed their first full-length album "In Good Company" on their own Muse Arise label in 2007 and have been writing new material steadily since. They have a great many recordings in progress and will continue to persevere both in and out of the studio on expanding their musical vision as life allows, both as the core duo and with various kindred musical spirits. They are looking toward releasing a brand new collection of songs in 2010 as well as offering some teases of new song sketches and other eclectic ear candy to sample over the coming months.
With a rich palette of influences from all over the spectrum of genres, Danyella & Chris pay tribute to their musical heroes by allowing touches of soul, blues, rock, folk, and funk….wherever and whenever it fits! They’ve also been known to perform the songs of those heroes on occasion. Intonition creates, plays, and performs with a pure love and joy of music and zest for life and sharing that blessed essence with anyone who chooses to be part of their musical journey. Intonition is music with heart and soul...
