Into the Sea started out sojourning in the mountain city of Tepic, Mexico in the summer of 2007. After 2 years of writing music together, organizing concerts with social help purposes behind them, home recordings, and their first studio recording, they have their eyes set on returning back to Portland, Oregon, but the majority of the band is from Seattle, WA. Formed after many years of living in separate states and countries, Andy and Joshua found themselves living in Tepic, in the same house with their wives, writing music and trying to put a band together. Six months later Omar moved to Tepic from Guadalajara to play drums in the band. It was then decided that the best fit to round up the bands members was by having Nayeli (Andy's wife) play bass and Stephanie (Joshua's wife) play accordion and keyboard, with both sharing singing duties as well. Now due to different life circumstances, Into the Sea will be one band but creating and playing shows in different locations with in the United States. Their hopes are to some day soon be playing as many shows as humanly possible around the world, breaking down the barriers between band and audience, and to devote themselves more fully to the art of songwriting, not playing the same song 10 different ways. Thanks for listening to the music, its from the soul and not meant to be sold as fashion, hopefully the music will endure as such.
