With numerous commissions and dedications to its name, including works by Keith Tippett and Andrew Wilson-Dickson, and their ongoing collaboration with the Cardiff New Music Collective, In Transit has inspired a significant body of music for their unique combination of instruments. The ensemble interprets, soundtracks and influences a multitude of artistic projects including visual exhibitions, contemporary dance, and film. The Big Issue said, "while displaying tremendous musicianship...the ensemble provides an unpretentious take on art and contemporary music... they deserve your attention", while the Western Mail describes them as "Wales' brightest young musicians".
