The PlasmA, were born in Arouca in november 2001. The propellant was Mauricio Vieira, DJ and music producer. That year they recorded their first demo (Arte de mal fingir) which provided them the 7th place in the best demo chart 2001 of DN+, a Diário de Notícias supplement. In March 2002 the second demo (Modo gentil de usar) was recorded and provided them the second place in that same chart in the year 2002. This was an important recognition, bearing in mind that the band was newborn. From that time on, a series of concerts and contest followed, such as 365 Festival (in 2002), Under Portugal (2002), 8th Modern Music Festival, in Corroios, which provided the PlasmA a honourable first prize (in 2003), another first place in the 7th Rockkastru’s Modern Music Festival, in Esposende, first place in the Alcatel broaden your life contest, finalist in the Antena 3 Quinta dos Portugueses contest (2004), Curto-circuito, on Sic Radical tv (2002), Lisbon Fonoteca (2002), Super Bock/ Super Rock (2003), Santiago Alquimista Café-teatro (2003), Tejo Festival (2003), XPTO show, on NTV (2003), Aquário show, on Porto Canal tv (2007) and Hard Club (2006). In 2007 there was a change of name (PlasmmA) and training which also intensified a series of steps, such as Tertúlia Castelense (2007), among many others.
Although I have participated in several contests and festivals across the country, this new project makes a cut with the past so we can evolve and reach out new objectives.
The sound of PlasmmA is a mix of electronic and rock, combinig casual instruments such as guitars and pianos with electronic beats and synthesizers.
