Emerging out of the coffeehouses and corner bars in early 2003, lead vocalist Aaron Chalcraft and college mate Jon Blechinger (guitar/vocals) put down their acoustic guitars in favor of a larger, louder vision. Out of this came Introspect, the upstart rock .. n.. roll presence from Columbus, Ohio.
While racking up an impressive regional following, Introspect released their first EP in early 2005 entitled, "For All to See", which received regional radio play and demonstrated the band's ability to combine infectious melodies with a rock and roll swagger. Introspect was recognized as a ..Top 10 Unsigned Band of 2005.. on www.alternativeaddiction.com and their song ..The Journey.. was one of the most downloaded songs of the year on the national music website. In support of the EP, the band landed many desirable supporting opportunities for national recording artists Evanescence, Maroon 5, Tantric, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, and Gavin DeGraw. In late October 2005, Introspect was chosen out of numerous other unsigned bands to be the sole opening act for arena rockers Bon Jovi at their tour stop in Columbus, OH.
But the growth of the band didn..t stop there. When adding members Mark Cooper (lead guitar/ vocals) formerly of Pay The Girl (TVT Records), Drew Phillips (Bass/vocals) formerly of Pay The Girl (TVT Records)/July For Kings (MCA), and Greg Braun (Drums) formerly of Pay the Girl, Introspect bolstered it..s collective experience with more season road vets. While in Pay The Girl, Mark, Drew, and Greg hit the road hard, most notably landing a role as the supporting act for international pop star Shakira on two North American legs of her ..Tour of the Mongoose.., among others.
Without question, Introspect has now realized their most fully energized and keenly focused direction of their career. With Introspect..s new line-up gelling as a unified musical ensemble working and playing as one, the group's new sound finds a strengthening of a band with great experience and energy. Now with renewed enthusiasm and vision, Introspect has set its sights on developing new material for the coming year while performing many shows along the way.
