Seasons change:
I often hear life described as a roller coaster with many unexpected ups and even more unexpected downs. Everyone loves the thrill of being on top, and they squeal with excitement when the coaster starts to drop. Fear is what may cause most to get a fluttering feeling in their belly when there are going down, but if you have no fear of roller coasters, that same fearful feeling like a butterfly in your gut that can make you want to throw up, will make you giggle with glee because the lightness you feel when all your internal organs levitate inside you for a moment gives you an almost instant buzz. It's so sad though when you know someone (and we all know many) who are so scared of life's unexpected plunges that they refuse to share in the joy of a celebratory occasion because of a superstition that any enjoyment of present circumstances will lead to an increased chance of unexpected loss. These attitudes of scarcity and fear block people from achieving the dreams and hearts desires. What I have come to understand is that my life does not and never has actually happened randomly or unexpectedly. My experiences and feelings flow with the seasons. The consequences of my own decisions and actions in response to those feelings and experiences dictate what type of harvest I will have the next season.
I would like to propose to you the concept that life operates in cycles. Just look around you and behold the cycles of the planets, sun and moon, tides, seasons, your girlfriend's menstruation cycle- your boyfriends menstruation cycle (okay so they don't actually menstruate but they do experience a hormonal cycle a lot like women that often results in about a week of crappy behavior due to hormone changes). Life itself is a collection of ever flowing cycles of life and death and chemical reactions. By tuning into our cyclical natures and recognizing the patterns we hold within ourselves we may find more peace and comfort in knowing that life is not just a bunch of unpredictable peaks and valleys that it seems to be at first glance.
We live in a world of duality and because of this law, life on earth will always provide contrast. In other words, to have any one thing in the 3D its opposite will always exist somewhere- and this is necessary to achieve its definition.. In other words, how would we recognize hot if we've never felt cold? What would a bowl be without the empty space inside? How would we recognize light if we had never known dark. Surely, you know that for every action there exists an equal and opposite reaction, and the most blatant example of this law are the states of birth and death. You can't have one without eventually having the other- they are the opposite- but in essence they are the same, they are all new beginnings.
Life is not the opposite of death, it is an ongoing process that is present during the phases of both birth and death. Plants live in cycles, in spring the seeds are laid and in the plants are born (or built up) and in the Autumn they begin to decay (break down). Their matter is returned to the ground and then provide fertilization to the soil, nourishing the Earth Mother as she prepares to give birth again in the Spring. Even a human corpse is filled with life, the processes of death and decay are carried out by millions of living organisms. Life is continuous and can not be stopped, only change forms.
By applying these cycles of birth and death and understanding how they operate in our lives, we begin to realize that even the seeming “low points” serve their purpose. The experiences of sadness and pain create the desire within us for comfort and joy. Experiencing what we don't want provides the definition we then use to map out the new experiences we would like to move onto. In breaking down, we are provided with the very seed of inspiration provided for transformation. By chosing to live in harmony with nature's cycles and recognizing the “low points” as indicators of where we want to be, we can then use our circumstances, and the resulting thoughts and emotions as guidance devices and opportunities for growth and personal evolution.
By observing yourself and your life from a holistic (higher/ unity) perspective you will be able to recognize these patterns more and more. For example, I know the beginning of September is usually a period of inwardness for myself. Throughout the Fall and Winter I feel less social, less active and prefer to be indoors more than outside. It's easier at these times for my body to put on weight, suffer from low energy, laziness and indulgence. By simply being aware of these tendencies I am in a much better position to achieve balance and avoid a bout of “Seasonal Depression.”
The beginning of February marks the beguiling of my outward phase. Throughout Match, April, May and June I come alive with energy, lose whatever weight I may have put on in the winter quickly, require less sleep, experience increased psychic experiences, as well as creative and imaginative faculties. By understanding the way my body and mind work with respect to the cycles of nature I am better able to be consciously aware of my decisions, less likely to suffer from exhaustion or delirium and illusion because I forgot to eat and sleep for too long. I know in the Spring I may have to use a supplement to ensure I sleep enough, to protect my mind. Although I easily feel social and incredibly energized, I know the road signs that point to exhaustion and am o the lookout for them. I see the Fall and Winter as an opportunity for self reflection and clarity, while the Spring and Summer give rise to real opportunities for invention and creative expression. Before realizing there are natural cycles within myself, I was trapped in the illusion that I was somehow a victim to my life experiences and emotions. The misunderstandings I had about my own polarity left me fearful of my energy changes, and was more inclined to use prescription drugs or alcohol to try and adjust my energy and sensitivities to something more socially acceptable. (or physically bearable). In understanding our natural mental and energetic cycles by harnessing their unique power allows us the unique opportunity of tuning in and working with our own cycles by harnessing their ebbs and flows and putting them to work for us. Keeping a journal, (one that keeps track of what sign the Moon is in, since the Moon rules our emotions) is a great way to be able to identify patterns and cycles in your feelings and behaviors and is a great way to learn a little about astrology.
Cycles aren't always related to seasons. We can identify cycles in our lives, existing there so we will take note of the patterns and bring about any needed changes or releases for healing. An example of this is the person who finds a job but always seems to lose it for one reason or another. Is he really just worthless, lazy or having an attitude problem? Or is he repeating this pattern a way for the Universe to communicate to him that he is actually in the wrong field? Cycles and patterns that need released are most visible in our interpersonal relationships. Why do some women seem to repeat relationships with men who are controlling or abusive? Perhaps it is a repeat opportunity for the woman to recognize her own pattern of denying her own desires and freedoms by not listening to her true heart and dreams. By repeating these relationships that cause her to feel stifled and undervalued she is forced to ask herself what she would like to do if she were free and what parts of her she wishes she could express. By getting in touch with her inner self (through crisis point) she is forced to ask herself what she would do if she were free, and what parts of her she wishes she could express. By realizing the desires she was suppressing and releasing her fear of being free, she is able to break the repeat pattern of captivity in her outer relationship life because she has broken it within. Now the restricting relationship will fall away, and room can be made for a new one that reflects where she has come in her own growth. This is the “mirror” effect that we experience here in duality. If we pay attention to our cycles, patterns and mirrors, we can touch the Divine and break free of the smoke and mirror, dream machine most this world is still asleep inside.

Follow your heart, but be quiet for a while first. Ask questions, and then feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions…

“Oneness Family”
In order to get back one's real self, one has to go inward where there is no past, no future, but there is only the present moment. In this state of meditation, one may get in touch with our inner being, the non-dual state of Oneness. Once this insight is gained, one is awakened and enlightenment is achieved, where there is no duality; there is only completeness. We seldom leave the task of alleviating pain to nature; rather, we want instant solutions. But pain and suffering gives us the opportunity to look within and experience that oneness or wholeness where no duality is present. There is no duality; duality is nothing but an illusion. Oneness is always ever-present…

that was thee most beautiful messge you left!
Yes! I do know of this understanding "the harmony of Life, of all experience". It is so fantastic sometimes I am speechless... but of course that makes sense. And I find it so amazing the synchrony of all events, even the ones that do not feel good. I too love the "surprises in life, or as you say when someone who you do not know shows up in your life and you understand and recognize the connection... You see that it is all meant to be.
Thanks so much!
