In Violet Light is a Dutch folk/americana/alt-countryband. The story begins in the summer of 2002, when Jan, Jeanine and Hugo had their first gig in Irish Pub O' Carolans. In Violet Light was born. A year and a few gigs later bass-player Annerie joined them, and the band was complete. They played the clubs and pubs, festivals, poetry-nights and opened for Slaid Cleaves, Hot Club of Cowtown and Steve Young.
After Annerie moved up North for study and work, they're pleased to welcome Johan as the new bass-player.
Inspired by the lowlands of Holland and the best of American folk music, In Violet Light brings songs about love, melancholy, sadness, rambling and whiskey.

Hoi Hugo, alles goed.. nog wel verkouden maar dat gaat (hopelijk !) vanzelf weer over. Eilen Jewel schijnt geweldig geweest te zijn in al haar optredens. Heb ik gemist ! Volgende week zaterdag Slaid Cleaves, in Hoorn. Dat moet vanzelf super zijn ! Leuk dat je naar CrossRoads geweest bent. Frank Carillo :-) Gaaf hoor !
