And the reviews are glowing:
“One of the best bands of their kind” (DrumBeat)
“Rich with story and spirit” (The Dwarf)
“Elegantly polished melodies with poignant lyricism” (Sauce)
“Confident, strident, catchy, strong” (Indie CDs)
Invisible Boy have thrice toured the south-eastern states in the past twelve months, with standout performances at Cygnet Folk Festival and Selby Folk Club, Ruby’s Lounge (VIC) and The Grace Emily Hotel (SA).
They have had regular airplay on more than 50 stations, including four live sets on ABC Radio.
Their second album, Above the Groove of a Lonely Life (2011) features the band’s signature singalong style, along with tambourine shakin’ two-steps, jangly Gypsy rock, funk grooves with Dylanesque lyricism, and heart-wrenching suburban psalms.
The record was self-produced in Tasmania, and mixed and mastered by Hamish Clark in Montreal, Canada.
Their innovative 2010 Living Room Tour saw the band perform to more than 3,000 people in three states, including in the homes of fans.
Invisible Boy have also released We’re Going to Hang Your Picture High (2008), produced by Carl Fidler (The Dead Abigails).
