SHORTFUSE presents INVISIBLE INK

Three of the UK's most innovative spoken-word artists, Suzanne Andrade, Rhian Edwards and Nathan Penlington, tear-up the boundaries of page and stage with a slickly staged scrapbook cabaret featuring twilit tales of woe and weird wonder, curious conjouring that will baffle and confound, celestial song and animations most strange.

Rhian Edwards: 'Astounding performances that get you in the emotional gut' - The Verb, BBC Radio 3

'An exceptional writer and one of the most compelling performers on the spokenword stage' - Hugo Williams, Times Literary Supplement.

Nathan Penlington: 'A natural performer, witty, inventive, stylish and original' - Robert Newman.

'Sensation' - The Guardian

Suzanne Andrade: 'Hypnotically brilliant, reminds me of William Burroughs and his strange stories' - Mixing It, BBC Radio 3

'You have applied a little first aid to my aged and failing body with your beautiful strange poetry' - Tony Hart

Nov 22 2007 8:38 PM

Chelsea Hotel Manhattan, Joe Ambrose's book of extreme travel writing will be launched at Waterstones, Islington Green, London N1, on November 29th at 6.30pm. Five minutes from Angel Tube. Ambrose will discuss the hotel and Post Impressionism, Warhol, Sid and Nancy, Brendan Behan and the Ramones; questions will be taken, books signed, and drinks served. Headpress, publishers of the book, are hosting a party after the Waterstones event, to which everybody's invited. This takes place five minute’s walk from Waterstones. More drinks, live bands, and a specially commissioned Chelsea Hotel DJ set will happen. Music guests include Sid Vicious’s guitarist from his Chelsea Hotel days. The party kicks off immediately after the Waterstones event. Party details will be available there.

Yet

Moll doll his chin;
Her hair birch-
Broom-in-the-fits;
Chalk and cheese, they said;
Cradle and grave,
They said;
Yet-
You could smell
The smouldering, sparry,
Whenever they met.

To a very special Ruddfan...

For any of you that have been living in a cupboard for the last 2 weeks, you won"t know that a campaign has started to get "Machadaynu" released up against the X-Factor this coming Christmas...

If you haven"t already, please sign the petition to the BBC to get it released.

Anyway...get well soon!

'Goring by Sea' ~ a truly remarkable vista that should be elevated to that of a public service/safety announcement... Have you tried Rottingdene ?.. Once when passing through as y'do, we saw this annual event bannered beneath ~ 'Wecome to Rottingdene' ~ 'Reptile Open Day'...
I thankyou etc... kind regards...

Hey hey,

How was Edinburgh? I came here to see if you were playing anywhere any time soon, but no luck it seems. Ho hum.

Can only assume you were mauled by some unapreciative Scotsman reporter. Let me know whenthe bandages are off.

I agree, absolutely awesome - I was blown away. My friend has already stolen the CD, just as well, might have had to hide it behind the sofa. Morph in your mouth, I don't know, utterly terrifying.

Hey guys - I came to see your show last Wednesday, and I thought it was excellent stuff. Suzanne - I have never seen you perform before, and thought you were completely mesmerising, hilarious, dark and brilliant. Nathan, I approve that you rip the piss out of self-harm, and Rhian, you continue to be one of my favourite performers of the moment. Nice work people. The strange disembodied child's voice was very grin-inducing too. Good luck with the rest o your run, and hope t bump into ye at some juncture.
