"the ep sampler i was sent by iodo last year was by far and away the best self-released thing i recieved here at the vp villa in 2005, if not since we started this rag in 2002." - vanity project magazine
"nastily riff-studded little pop-prats and totally fucking ace. And clever. Probably good-looking too." unpeeled magazine (www.unpeeled.co.uk)
"after listening to iodo's "True Love Waits" a couple of times, I really had a problem coming to this review. Without resorting to the NME practice of over-hyping I wanted to ensure that people (particularly for those that have never heard iodo) would perhaps be curious enough to check it out. I wanted to get across to people what an important disc this is for Lincoln and music enthusiasts in general. Important in the sense that iodo have, with "True Love Waits", produced a stunning CD of six wonderfully crafted tunes, delivered in breathtaking style and showcasing some excellent (if at times understated) musicianship without show-boating. Timeless and free of the shackles of any current vogue. Its characterised by some (seemingly) free form jazz interludes, by some staggeringly good intrumentation and some thought provokng lyrics...
...All in all a magnificent offering. I would go as far as to say its possibly one of the best releases of the year, and I'm not talking locally released, I would say that this EP is one of the best releases NATIONWIDE!! It's an essential addition to any music lover's collection and perhaps the benchmark against which a lot of lesser should be judged." - lincolnbands.co.uk
iodo were formed in lincoln during the early stages of 2003 and, over the course of two self-released albums and numerous eps, have slowly developed from twee indie-pop minstrels into the unclassifiable multi-genre noiseniks they are today.
originally conceived as a studio-based experimental project, they took their unique combination of vocals, guitar, bass, cornet and laptop-powered beats to the stage after the warm reception of their debut mini-album, try to be. a more complex and electronically-driven second album, entitled this is now, followed, quickly succeeded by walk-on role: ep.
In 2007 they returned with a new six track ep containing their identifiable blend of acoustic instrumentation and electronic beats and a four-part conceptual song-cycle fuelled by the twin themes of consumerism and christianity. true love waits: ep sees the quartet augmented by an extended line-up of drummers, guitarists, saxophonists and flautists and showcases a groundbreaking stylistic leap from their previous work.

'iodo make noise both tuneful and baffling and as a consequence, sound like a particularly brain-fried Tuesday afternoon in the company of William Burroughs.' - tasty fanzine
This is extremely sad news to hear boys, at least we'll have our beautiful memories. LONG LIVE IODO. Let us know if your gonna do any solo projects or anything. Love as always. x

Cheers dude, yeah we will probably be releasing a ep at some point i'll make sure you all get a copy. Were just getting ready to start playing some live dates. We'll have to do some gigs together and do some member swapping. Love you guys always. Tom x
Das Wanderlust are an x-piece wrong-pop band. That is to say that there is an indeterminate number of them, and that their attempts at writing pop songs often come out sounding a bit 'wrong' (but in a very 'right' way).
just downloaded the live tracks, theyre amazing, especially silver fox! really hope we can get involved in iodo collective soon and hopefully have another gig together in the summer!
MV & EE WITH THE GOLDEN ROAD are heavy psychedelic pedal steels, celestial meanderings, and astral folk guitar navigations. Matt Valentine used to be in the free-folk collective Tower Recordings. J. Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. plays on their latest record. They live on Maximum Arousal Farm, in New England or somewhere. There is so much we can say and so many quotes we could use, and we'd really prefer if you just listen so check em out
hello. its luke. i have no credit so sorry i haven;t replied! i'm really busy lately but i'll see what i can do about wednesday. to be honest, sundays are probably best but it depends on what everyone else is doing i guess. i've told monz and bryce and they should get in touch with you soonish! thanks for putting in the effort, it will be really cool to have the iodo collective around.
CREVECOEUR (france) with live projections on 8mm film.....their sound has been said to sound like the backdrop for a Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Serge Leone or David Lynch film and the whole visual aspect takes their live show to a whole other level. A treat methinks.
support comes from nottinghams SOUVARIS who have been causing a bit of a stir around the uk and europe. comparisons have been made to (band of 2007) battles, tortoise, don cabellero, mogwai, explosions in the sky etc so im sure u get the idea. F**King ace!!
