---- SOME HISTORY ----
Been playing a total of years, in and around Newcastle. What can be described as sample-based electronica; dirty beat driven dance music; verging on hip-hop some have said, but thats only because we use samples and down-tempo beats, but never aspire to the culture.
We sound like the avalanches but their first album was the influence when their drummer rapped eternally better than anything thats come out of Australia hip-hop wise.
We once performed under the name Grand Theft Audio at the local youth venues opening night. Let this be known that the name was short-lived and created a year before the hip-hoppers The Resin Dogs came up with an album of the same name.
That same gig we happened to be on the same bill as beat-boxing legends Meta Bass and Breathe, entitling us to two degrees of separation to DJ Shadow (Refer to Private Press liner notes).
Furthest weve got to is Melbrn, most rural: Young. We got a free turntable road case because we were on our way to play a gig at the Metro that night. Apparently, dropping the Metro awards you free stuff anywhere.
Download our one release and other live tracks at www.ionic.org. Get it all for free and book us at your gigs.
