I'm Iowalisa and I run the Iowa Women's Music & Events blog at http://iowalisa.blogster.com (posted here on MySpace too), which promotes concerts and events of interest to and featuring women in most of Iowa. I also help produce and coordinate the Iowa Women's Music Festival, held in September (September 11-12, 2009) in Iowa City, Iowa each year. I've got a side biz called Stellar Kick Entertainment to do just that. I am a Mainstage techie, my other hobby of plug, chug, lift, carry, drag, and performer support, at other women's music festivals. For the occasional guy who stops by, I love you all too. Some of my favorite guy singer-songwriters can probably be considered honorary women in music (grin); they have that special way of connecting emotionally that I appreciate (e.g. Peter Mulvey, Willy Porter, and Shawn Mullins, to name a few). Besides the music, I'm a collegiate, high school, and ASA softball umpire (which I love and which keeps me busy through a long summer), and I'm a high school volleyball referee (love it, love it, love it!).
