ANCIENT SOUNDS FOR FUTURE MUSIC
An ostinato jew’s harp flowing like the lava of Etna gives the tempo and the sound of this new formidable band from Catania. We can feel all of Sicily in this project, ancient Trinacria and the modern island, as the heat of IPERcusSONICI melts diverse rhythms and instruments, interweaving electrified steel reeds with skin and wood of ancestral drums.
A massive impact of rhythmic fire for a very unique and unheard sonic world, stemming also from the passion and research of these muscians who have travelled through different rhytmic vulcanos and have ripositioned them inside a musical texture which is ancient but hypermodern.

Un marranzano ostinato che ricorda la lava dell’Etna, detta il tempo e il suono alla musica di questa nuova formidabile band catanese. C’è tutta la Sicilia in questo progetto, la Trinacria antica e l’isola moderna perché IPERcusSONICI fondono ritmi e strumenti diversi e intrecciano linguette d’acciaio elettrificate con pelli di tamburi primordiali. Un forte impatto di fuoco ritmico e un suono molto, molto originale che nasce anche dalle ricerche e dalle passioni di questi musicisti che hanno attraversato altri vulcani ritmici e li hanno ricollocati all’interno di una trama musicale antica e ipermoderna.

Anthony Johnson Nato e cresciuto a Trech Town in Giamaica, quartiere di Kingston che ha dato i natali a Bob Marley. Esordisce nel panorama internazionale con il trio vocale “the Mystic Eyes” registrando alla fine degli anni 70 per la greensleves in UK “PERILOUS TIMES” , una massive roots Hit. Successivamente nei primi anni 80 collabora con nomi quali Jah Thomas, Linval thompson e Prince Jammys, sfornando la maggior parte dei suoi classici di maggior successo, tutti suonati dai Roots Radics e High Times Band. Fu Jah Thomas che nel 1982 produsse uno dei suoi più grandi successi di sempre, una tune chiamata “Gunshot”. Questa big tune fu ripresa successivamente con una lirica in stile dubplate come dedicata ad un “sound system” chiamato “soundclash”, da allora, ad ogni sound system che si rispetti, non può mancare questa tune nella box selection. Recentemente ha collaborato con Jah Warrior, Rootsman e con il suo vecchio amico e veterano Mike Brooks in UK. Dalla collaborazione con Rootsman, ha sfornato una versione cruciale della sua anthem “Gunshot” ed un 45 giri intitolato “I’m the one” che ha conquistato moltissime yard internazionali. Tuttavia il Mr. “Gunshot” di oggi vuole rivolgersi ad un nuovo pubblico con dei messaggi conscious e “ANTI GUN”. Erba Pipa Sound Sound System storico a livello nazionale, nasce nel 1995 sotto il nome di Skunk Sound System. Nel 1998 costruiscono il loro sound system (il primo impianto autocostruito della Campania), corredato dei mitici bassi modello Scoop Binz. Nel 2001 fondano la “Rupa Rupa Record” etichetta reggae underground tramite la quale producono vari ritmi stringendo collaborazioni con personaggi quali U Brown, Anthony Johnson, Joseph Cotton, Fido Guido, Ranking Levy, Papa Buju, Reddog e Boombuz, Mama Marjas, Murgia Youth, Paranza Vibes ecc, pubblicando un bel po di materiale tra cd e 7”, fino all’ultima importante produzione: il nuovo LP di Anthony Johnson, chiamato “Dancehall Victor

Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

QMARE is a young music producer of electronic, psychedelic and experimental music. He was born in 1990. His adventure connected with music began since he was 7 when he started to play keyboards. He brought himself to be a music producer when he was 10, and to Drum and Bass when he was 16. Qmare sound is a mix of nerofunk with dark atmosphears and some oriental influences with a drummer attitude into the groove.
