About me:
LISTEN TO "THE LEAST OF THESE" SERIES:
..
LISTEN TO MORE SERMONS HERE

In December of 1993 I was living in Denver, Colorado when I'd finally had enough of feeling empty inside. I called a Christian friend in Austin, Texas and for the next month this friend talked with me nightly reading scripture, talking, and praying. After a real ‘mountain top’ experience with God, I became a Christ follower. I packed up a few things, leaving a business, girlfriend, car, and a home to come to Austin, Texas.

Once in Austin, I immediately became involved in a Bible study. I was baptized on February 6, 1994. About six months later I realized God was inviting me into a life of ministry. I got a job at Dell Computer Company and decided to finish my education. In May of 1995, I graduated from Concordia University with a BA in Business Administration. Then, in November of 1995, I quit my job at Dell to follow a step of faith in full time evangelistic work.

I've always had a passion to invite people into a relationship with God. I led a Bible study with five other young men and from these small beginnings Austin Metro was formed. Austin Metro was a citywide singles ministry created to reach out to those in Austin, Texas and the surrounding area who did not have a relationship with God as well as those who had turned away from God and needed a first step back into the church. Austin Metro celebrated it's four-year anniversary in June, 1999 by commissioning over 1000 attendees to go to their local churches and start new ministries to their age group. In the next few years five new ministries and churches started in the Austin area specifically to reach young singles in Austin.

In January of 1997, I joined twelve other young Christ followers start San Antonio Metro and was asked to be the weekly speaker by the team. SA Metro grew into the largest weekly event of its kind in San Antonio reaching over 1500 singles at it's largest gathering.

In the fall of 1998, a small group of devoted attendees of San Antonio Metro who drove each week from the small town of Kerrville approached me to help start an event in their town to reach un-churched young people. Now, eight years later, Larry Williams has taken the Teaching Pastor role from me and continues to faithfully share biblical truth to over 400 people weekly in a town of less than 40,000.

I also speak at retreats, events, and churches to people of all ages. I continually strive to show God’s light to non-believers while inspiring Christians to ‘get out of their comfort zone’ and remember their calling (Matthew 28:18-20).

I and my wife Julie, and our three children: Parker (6), Katherine (4), and Raney Grace (2), moved to McLean, Virginia in the summer of 2004 to serve at Frontline Church. Less than two months after arriving in Virginia the pastor of Frontline accepted a position as pastor of a church in Orange County, California, and I was asked to become the new pastor of Frontline. I enthusiastically accepted the challenge and I've been leading Frontline since January 2005. Frontline has grown to a community of over 2500 young people in their twenties and thirties.

I completed my Master’s degree in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000. Since 2003 I have been pursuing my doctoral work at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ.

In 2004, I finished writing my first book, Spiritual CPR: Reviving a Flat-lined Generation, published by David C. Cook. You can order the book from any online book seller (www.amazon.com) or go directly to my ministry website at www.toddphillips.net.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me!

Hey Todd, it was good seeing you in the gym today and finally getting a chance to introduce myself in person. If you're ever in Tysons corner area, send me an email and we'll lift there! (Maybe you can show me a thing or two..)

Have a great birthday Todd. Thanks for sharing your life and teaching the scriptures to us so that we "may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." I'm looking forward to the Fall Retreat, as it'll help us be all that we can be in Christ.

Todd, thanks for teaching the way you do, encouraging us to get into the Word more, and helping to equip us to live it out. I read the first session from your new book and just ordered your "Get Uncomfortable" Leaders Kit. Thank you for your involvement and investment with the poor and oppressed. You've given us spiritual CPR and it's appreciated. See you at the Leadnow Conference. Thanks for the wake-up call and for being real with us. May we "take action in Jesus’ name and help to change the world for maybe one last time!"
