Houston's Artcrawl 2007
The Neighborhood: Photography and Poetry Exhibit of Denver Harbor
In conjunction with the 15th annual Artcrawl and Elder Street Gallery, photographer Monica Kressman and poet Radames Ortiz will host a photography and poetry exhibit of Denver Harbor called “The Neighborhood.”
This exhibit will display photographs and poetry influenced by this predominately Hispanic neighborhood located in the Fifth ward district on the eastside of Houston, the birthplace and inspiration of poet Radames Ortiz. Come see how Monica Kressman weaves a narrative with her stark photographs and listen to Radames Ortiz’s poetry that echoes the sometimes harsh yet beautiful memories of a childhood based in “the neighborhood.”
“The Neighborhood” will be open to the public on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Elder Street Gallery located at 1101 Elder St #202, 77007. There will be a featured reading by Radames Ortiz at 3:00pm followed by a short discussion by photographer Monica Kressman.
