Demo of the Month
Run away! The most frightening sounding unsigned band on the face of the planet are coming! Air raid sirens wail, hammers clash on anvils, huge riffs molest the air and someone plays a turntable solo. I Remain sound lke a fuck-off great fight between Slayer, Slipknot and Public Enemy and that's only the first track. There is also a promo vid which seems to show some one cutting himself to shreds. This band may be in demos now but we fully predict that they'll be in the main part of Hammer in less than a year. [9] (out of 10)
I Remain Have Split after a few years of Motorway Trekkin and meeting some fantastic Bands(Residual Effect, RSJ) and People along the way, Like most Uk bands we are calling it a day, because UK METAL (Not F*ckin Emo,or Screamo etc)BANDS Just arent fashionable anymore!!
Rory and Zander are Currently Recording and Working on a New Project in the Doom Arena and Nick and Mr H are doing their thing.....Chunk is starting a family, V left to live with a transvestite and Adam is learning how to play bass with his endorsement Gear that he got through us (Shit Bass Player)!!
Anyway, Goodbye from all of us and we'll no doubt be appearing soon to a Myspace Page near you! Ta Ta...Oh and Thanks for the Support over the last few Years!! Love Ya!!
i-Remain were formed in Stockport at the end of 2003 by former Dearly Beheaded vocalist Alex Creamer.Originally formed as a jamming session between friends, things got more serious when i Remain started to grow a strong fan base from local Manchester gigs, mainly due to their original thrash sound and blistering live performance.Described as a cross between Slayer and Slipknot in magazines such as Metal Hammer and Terrorizer.
At the beginning of 2004, i Remain entered the studio to record a 3-track demo which immediately grabbed the attention of a number of record labels also receiving excellent press, including 9/10 “demo of the month” in Metal Hammer magazine. i Remain re-entered the studio again to record their debut album ‘Brutality of Terror’ with fantastic New Young Producer Rick Powell at Amplisound Studios Stockport.
i Remain have shared the stage with FaceDown, Byzantine, Gutworm, RSJ, Jonny Truant, i-def-i, Profane, Interlock, KingSize Blues, Malefice, Zero Cipher,Residual Effect,Skud.
Album Reviews:
Review from EMP Magazine Germany:
With their debut album, "Brutality of terror", the British sextet, I-Remain present a breathtaking, modern Thrash Metal-killer. They call Bands, like Lamb Of God, The Haunted and Chimaira as their ideals, the new generation of extreme sounds. The eleven songs are based on heavy, brute riffs, mighty double-bass attacks and low, hateful growls of frontman Zander screaming. The songs are very catchy, straight and extremely grooving. The band began as a fun-project but the fan base was growing rapidly and after their first 3-track demo was voted demo of the month in the British Metal Hammer, the only way was up. Together with Rick Powell, they produced their debut album in the Amplisound Studios (Pitchshifter et al) and present a great statement of how Thrash Metal anno 2007 has to sound. Review from Metal Hammer June 2008:
Unscene ! Rising Stars waiting to Explode....
Imagine Caval-era Sepultura with Razor sharp death metalcore riffs.
Singer Zander(ace name) has a deathly set of pipes, holding gravel scarred notes for bar after bar.Behind him, the riff section pummel that fretboard like Scissorfight playing Testament riffs. The sound has elements of the newer thrash outfits such as Municipal Waste (but a less derivative take) and the songs are littered with Lamb of God style breakdowns and technically precise, chirruping guitar licks.
The density of the bands sound doubtless comes from their having six members, with turntablist Mr H adding scratches and samples into the mix.
The only criticism would be that the phrase "Brutality of Terror" doesnt mean anything. At least, nothing we can fathom!

Metal Hammer Febuary 2009: "I-Remain: Legion Of One":
"You might get a mere three tracks to play with here, but it's more than enought to give you a powerful sense of I-Remain's unequivocal determination and intent. This is the kind of aggression and vocal rawness that only comes from really meaning what you're singing about! I-Remain's intent is to provide the world with a pretty straightforward but solid contemporary metal band with the slightest hint of thrash. The vocals draw more from the more metal side of hardcore and less from the more deathly growls that such a "metal" backing would suggest. Sadly, what sounds like great guitar solos are lost in a band studio mix. The UK seems to finally know how to produce great straight-up heavy fucking metal!"
