Influences
“Interfrequency 23 7” nace impulsado por la curiosidad, experimentando con elementos de distintas culturas a través de un repertorio casi exclusivamente original.
Las composiciones que integran este proyecto son el vehículo que permite la conexión sonora por la que unas músicas entran dentro de otras.

"Interfrequency 23 7" is born out of curiosity, experimenting with elements from different cultures and integrating them into a nearly exclusively original repertoire. The compositions of this project are the vehicle that permits the sound connection through which one kind of music can enter into another.
Nací en Jaén en una familia de músicos; mi abuela era pianista y mi abuelo tocaba el oboe, aunque la mayor parte de su tiempo la empleaba en componer y dirigir una banda, por lo tanto crecí escuchando pasodobles y música clásica.
Mi abuelo tenía el propósito de hacerme aprender solfeo con sólo cuatro años, pero no fue hasta los siete años cuando muy segura de mí misma me dirigí a él para pedirle que me enseñara a tocar. Desde es momento no había nada que me divirtiera más que pasar las horas en el piano. Siempre intentaba reproducir toda la música que oía, uno de mis primeros recuerdos es tratando de tocar Asturias con gran empeño después de haber escuchado una grabación de Alicia de la Rocha-.
Tras una etapa de enseñanzas caseras me matriculé en el conservatorio. Allí hice los mejores amigos que tengo y aprendí grandes cosas de mis maestros. A través de las obras de Albéniz, Falla y Granados profundicé más en el flamenco y la tradición folclórica española, y empecé a conocer las composiciones de Bach, Bartók, Skrjabin, Prokofiev, Ravel, Debussy y Stravinsky.
Sin embargo tenía algo más en mente; me inquietaba el poder igualar el sonido de los discos de jazz de mi padre, y fue esto lo que me llevó a descubrir las séptimas mayores. A partir de ese día mi vida cambió radicalmente. En mis investigaciones me respaldaron algunos de mis compañeros del conservatorio, que pusieron a mi disposición partituras de jazz y una encerrona para que entrara a formar parte de la Big Band del centro. Durante los cuatro años que trabajé con esta formación tuve oportunidad de ampliar mis conocimientos sobre Swing, Latin-jazz y Funk.
El resto de mis influencias musicales provienen de fuentes tan dispares como Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Guns and Roses, Iron Maiden Nirvana, Mano Negra, Extremoduro, The Beatles, etc.

I was born in 1980 into a family of musicians; my grandmother was a pianist and my grandfather played the oboe, but he spent most of his time composing and conducting a wind band; so I grew up listening to pasodobles and classical music.
My grandfather tried to teach me to read music from the age of four, but it wasn’t till I was seven years old that I felt confident to ask him to teach me to play the piano. Since that day I can’t remember anything that made me happier than playing the piano. I always tried to copy everything I heard, and one of my first memories is working hard on reproducing Asturias after listening to a record by Alicia de la Rocha.
After a few years of being taught at home I entered the conservatoire. There I made some of my best friends and I learnt great things from my teachers. Studying the works of Albéniz, Falla and Granados made me go deeper into Spanish folklore and traditional Flamenco, and I also got to know Bach, Bartók, Skrjabin, Prokofiev, Ravel, Debussy and Stravinsky, from whose works I’m mainly influenced.
But there was something else on my mind: fascinated by my father’s jazz records, I just wanted to reproduce this sound, and that’s how I discovered major sevenths. From this moment my life changed radically. My friends at the conservatoire supported me in my investigations providing me with jazz scores, and more or less by chance I became part of the Big Band at the conservatoire. During the four years working with the band I had the opportunity to extend my knowledge of Swing, Latinjazz and Funk.
Other musical influences are sources as diverse as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Guns and Roses, Iron Maiden Nirvana, Mano Negra, Extremoduro, The Beatles, etc.
