Myself, the Sexy Duke and sometimes my sister (at funerals and outside htown bars).
Influences
GENERAL: learning probability theorems, neural networks, support vector machines, posterior and prior probabilities, the incredible subjectivity in statistics, making something great out of nothing. PSYCHED to see peas, radishes and lettuce growing already, to go sunbathing, wear flip-flops and drink home-made mojitos with tasty herb garden mint. How does YOUR garden grow?
FAVORITE MUSICS: Pixies, Aimee Mann, Ben Folds, Jawbreaker, Fugazi, Geoff Baker, Pavement, Old97s, The Mod Caesars, Foxymorons!, George Michael, Stevie Wonder, music made by people I know
AUTHORS: Emile Zola, Willa Cather, SJ Gould, T. Dreiser, George Elliot
ART: Max Ernst, Magritte, Guiseppi Arcimboldo
FOOD: My favorite food ever is noodles. But I also really like vietnamese sandwiches, massaman curry, boba drinks, homemade pizzas, sushi, saag paneer, fish cooked with fruit, my dad's soaky eggs, beets, kumquots, blackberries and bok choy

EDUCATION: grad student, bioinformatics
My dad bought me a 99$ Yamaha and I played it until it was crushed at a show when some punk put a boot through it. It was repaired and is still the best sounding guitar ever.
I formed a band in highschool SHNED -- junk punk and pure garage rock and played with the same people until late college. I moved to the west coast, played open mics and shows with original solo-acoustic songs. I recorded a demo CD with Stuart Pearson which is available if you hound me and/or when I play at open mics.
I am currently on the east coast, in graduate school studying bioinformatics. And on that note, I am looking for good acoustic open mics and/or lonely coffeehouses. If you have a place in mind, do let me know.
*and ps. if you use "party" as an intransitive verb more than once a year, I probably don't want to know you.
Maybe, if you leave it out long enough, your jack-o-lantern will grow sideburns and a goatee to go with the 'stache. :) Then he'll get all the undergrads.
E.A. Pumpkin was carved in a day and promptly beheaded the next morn'. Unlike Poe's character in The Pit and the Pendulum, my pumpkin protagonists are always swallowed by the pit.
Thank you Irene. Love your songs and your sound. I love the little story of your Guitar getting the boot lol. If your ever around the Cape Cod area(Ma) check out the Sippican Coffee House in Wareham.

Hey Deb, glad you like the songs...a lot of these are ones I wrote when we were all about the open mics in L.A. I hardly go to open mics anymore, and I miss it. How often do you get to play out? Faculty parties don't count.
Deb! I dunno what's wrong with Kinnelon...I had troubles loading it, but it's playing okay now on my computer. I'm glad it's a good song for pining after Germans! Wait, that's exactly why I wrote it...
H-towns not in your PLANS!!!! what??!!?!?!?!?! jaykay...i WANNA go to BOSTON!!!!! that would totally oowwwwnnn. today mom was talking about spending some time in Dallas. i think that shes very fond of the idea of us not being home alone all day...so ill ask her! i totally hope that we can. that would be so much fun!
I really like the new songs -- new to me, at least. I hear gorgeous R&B rhythm and string sections on "Earthquake", but it's hard to argue with an acoustic rendition of these songs.
But the reason I'm here is because you know about microbes and such, so I wanted to ask if you think it's ok to drink a six pack of Billy Beer that I found. About 30 years old, I'd guess. Safe??
