Dance and Fashion

Dance and fashion are the stylised expressions of the joy of physicality, as well as key mating rituals of culture. As the liberal forces of the post-industrial revolution West loosened sexual mores and provided more leisure time, fashion and dance culture played fast and loose with our inhibitions.

The digital revolution allowed for the explosion of the electronic dance music scene that represented a new tribalism – despite cries of “machine-made”, the beats and rhythms of this genre were actually more “organic” than melody-driven music, mirroring the algorithmic movements of nature, of our muscles and bones. And fashion became ever the more eclectic as more and more stalls filled the global village square.

Today dance and fashion let us strut any way we please through an age where we baldest of creatures may choose our furs and feathers and how to shake and slither in them.

Submissions Wanted !!

We want you to be a part of the biggest indoor screen installation in the world. The point of I-REZ is to pose questions about global matters that affect us all and look for answers – in the community, in technology, in our use of media and in ourselves.

We are embedding thousands of clips into the main images which are all based on a storyboard exploring global issues and making connections with Manchester – the first "Modern" city – where the event takes place.

We want your stories and ideas to be part of the video mosaic that tells the wider story about our world – so please submit !

Then go get or make your clips and submit them, alerting the FRIEND that is closest in theme to your submission.

If your vid gets accepted, your friend will let you know. We’ll be posting the best submissions up on the various friends’ pages…

Submission Guidelines:

Video clips 3 to 30 seconds long

Size no smaller than 180 x 135 and up to PAL resolution

25 frames/sec

We don’t mind what codec you use – however please avoid DivX and any codec that uses very high compression
