A visual onslaught from the sciences of the new world, through the mathematics of the relative theory and the introduction of the computer into every day lives.

The exponential growth of scientific discovery since the Industrial Revolution belies the many dead ends, ideological debates and abrupt changes of direction that plague the scientific community. From the mechanistic view of life that followed in the wake of the Machine Age, to the backlash that returned science to a more organic, inter-connected understanding of life, there have been as many quantum detours as quantum leaps. Today, leading minds recognize that it all boils down to algorithms- “reductionism” is not a dirty word... And this understanding reveals the importance of computing.

Today, the digital age has made computing ubiquitous - part of everyday life, not just for maths geeks. It integrates the integer and celebrates the creativity of computation.

Submissions Wanted !!

We want you to be a part of the biggest indoor screen installation in the world. The point of I-REZ is to pose questions about global matters that affect us all and look for answers – in the community, in technology, in our use of media and in ourselves.

We are embedding thousands of clips into the main images which are all based on a storyboard exploring global issues and making connections with Manchester – the first "Modern" city – where the event takes place.

We want your stories and ideas to be part of the video mosaic that tells the wider story about our world – so please submit !

Then go get or make your clips and submit them, alerting the FRIEND that is closest in theme to your submission.

If your vid gets accepted, your friend will let you know. We’ll be posting the best submissions up on the various friends’ pages…
