Got into reggae music about 6 years ago by listening to sounds like Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Johnny Clarke, Twinkle Brothers etc.
First soundtape I heard was Jah Tubbys in Amsterdam 2001 and that changed my whole perspective on reggae. Soon after I “stumbled” across some old Jah
Shaka tapes and that was the moment in which I felt I had to try to spread the Jah vibes also.
I bought my first piece of vinyl about two years and a half ago and have building up my collection since then. Trying to collect more obscure stepping minor key tunes/
In 2006 I started off playing monthly sets on a French web-radio called Ombilikal on the show called “Endoskopie”. I played also on Acik Radio on the show called Beton Orman(Concrete Jungle) and one set on Upfront Radio alongside bredrin JM. Latest works were for the Romanian Rastafari forum.
First live selection I played was in Istanbul at a club called “Karga” alongside bredrins Da-Frogg and Selekta Firuzaga.
The roots reggae scene in Romania is almost inexistent but hopefully, Kaya Foundation, and the project they are starting, will improve things. I am also planning on building my own sound somewhere in the near future.
Forward ever, backwards never!
Want to give thanks to some special people that helped me are along this rocky road: my family, Peter "Culturebass", Jan "Ionyouth", KayaLion "Ionyouth", Dorian "Chomp", Simon "Rebel Corner", Dub Soljah "Cultural Warriors",Idren Natural ,Wannes "Oneness Higher Ites", Jah Militant Soundsystem - bredrins Weeda and Rootikal Warrior, Selim "Dafrogg"& Gokce "Selekta Firuzaga", Jose "Rootikaly", Cyrill "SirHill" Control Tower records, Kris "Naphtali", Manwel T and nuff, nuff more.
