In vielen Fällen ist es sinnvoll, den Namen einer Band oder auch den Künstlernamen eines Musikers beim ..DPMA.. als Marke anzumelden.
Hierbei sollte allerdings darauf geachtet werden, daß der anzumeldende Name nicht gar zu derb ist, da das "Anstandsgefühl" Deutscher Ämter und Gerichte sich doch signifikant von dem der Musikantengemeinde unterscheidet und die Markenanmeldung vom DPMA wegen Sittenwidrigkeit zurückgewiesen werden kann.
Ein erbauliches Beispiel hierfür ist der Beschwerdeentscheidung "Ready To Fuck" des Bundespatentgerichtes (BPatG) zu entnehmen:
