Relient K, Incubus, Dave Matthews Band, More Than Yesterday (I know that's quite a mix of music, but it's as close as we can come to describing the homogenous mix of sounds we have)
So you wanna know about Iris Avenue, huh? What do you want to know. Does the fact that jeremy (the drummer) and jake (the bass player) used to hate each other and get into fights give you your kicks and giggles? Does the fact that justin (vocals and guitar) does his homework every waking hour of his life make you want to jump up and down yelling "hip hip hooray!"? Well none of that matters. All that does matter is that Iris Avenue makes in your face catchy rock music that you don't usually hear in the burgeoning Nebraska scene. With the band finally coming together in early 2003, music flowed pretty quickly. The best darn EP you will ever find.......... ever..... was made thanks to Chris "Howie" Howard in May of '03. The band spent some time trying to find something else to do with their time until they realized that making fantastic music was all there was to do. Oh yeah.. you can go and drink with the boys or eat food with..... the girls.... or watch home videos with the parents.... but why the heck not make music to make one pee their pants in excitement? and yes... that happens consistently. The band finished up work on their new cd "Nearly New" in early May... and is still working on finally putting it out. Until then.... feast your pretty little ears on some tasty nuggets of.... golden wisdom... in the form of 4 3 minute diddies. yeah you heard it. DIDDIES! Get'r'done you little kids. Hey, I went to the Columbus show this past friday and i thought you guys were great. I've been going to these local columbus shows for about the past 5 years now and no one ever plays that style of music and has that great of vocals. I know the columbus crowd can be rough and i'm just glad you guys stuck through it...I hope to see you guys around sometime again! Thanks
