Carter USM, Smashing Pumpkins, Crowded House, Sex Pistols, Stevie Wonder, Massive Attack, Pixies, The Clash, The Jam, The Adverts, Gary Numan, Nirvana, Ministry, The Undertones....
Once upon a time, after a couple of gigs..... we found ourselves in recording studios working with notable producers including John O'Neill (the Undertones), Gil Norton (Pixies) and Steve Hillage.
.....................our debut album A Map Of The Universe By Blink was a great experience to make, while sending us on an amazing journey. We're still very proud of it.....
Some very enjoyable and eventful tours of the UK...
............................Soundcrowd Orchestra remixed Cello, once of our best known songs, which was a real honour.........
..............A-listed on radio stations across the North East USA and across college radio. .......we set up our own New York based label, released A Map Of The Universe By Blink' and went on to sell nice numbers of copies of it in the USA..... We then hooked up with Paradigm Records..... 'The End Is High' released in the USA.
.......Billboard Magazine made 'The End Is High' their five star album of the month, (which was a thrill) and the album went on to sell nice numbers of copies in a very short space of time
Some very enjoyable and eventful tours of the USA, most noteably with Samiam (Hi guys!)...
'The End Is High' released in Japan and Australia, although we don't think the Australians were mad about us.....
We played shows, sharing dressing rooms with, amongst others, The Verve, Oasis, Carter USM, Crowded House, Samiam, The Ramones, Mercury Rev, Moby, Lloyd Cole, Sultans Of Ping, The Frank & Walters, The Frames, The Cardigans, Mark Geary, Brendan O'Shea and Blink 182......
......There's no point in saying that the whole Blink182 thing didn't affect our morale, we'd rather be known for our music, so we'll keep making what we think is great music, and hope that someday that's what we're known for.........
In 2003, we worked with our friend and producer Howie Beno (Ministry founder, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blondie,) recorded the third album..... Deep Inside The Sound Of Sadness,,.... Wendy Starland took time out from writing with Quincy Jones to sing on 'Don't You Rollerblade In Nashville Tennessee? .......... New York underground darling, Madison, joined in on 'Angel Of Light (Catwoman)'.......... Dave Browne flew in to play guitar on 'Walking Away', ............ John McCurry (the man behind monster 80's classics 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' and ' Alice Coopers' 'Poison') stuck his head in for one or two guitar parts, but mainly for coffee. ...
.................The album was released in Ireland in 2004, winning some award nominations and nice reviews......
.........Now we're recording our fourth album, and will also be re-releasing all of our earlier work, along with some really cool stuff that never got released before. ........
....So it looks like we're a band that releases an album every four years or so!!! .....Who'd have thunk it?..........
These releases will be available on this website, and also on www.irishblink.ie
